ProteMacMac Glossary

Mac (Macintosh, iMac, MacBook) – is a series of several lines of personal computers designed, developed, and marketed by Apple Inc.  

Mac OS – is a series of graphical user interface-based operating systems developed by Apple Inc. for their Macintosh line of computer systems. (ProteMac presents a series of protecting and monitoring software designed especially for Mac OS). 

Malware – Malicious software. Software intended to cause consequences the unwitting user would not choose; especially used of virus or Trojan horse software.

Message– any notice, word, or communication, written or verbal, sent from one person to another.

Monitoring – a program that observes and regulates and controls or verifies the operations of a data-processing system.(for instance, ProteMac Meter monitors and records the activity between your Macintosh computer and all outside network connections).

Monitoring activity– the act of observing something and keeping a record of it.

Monitoring software–a program that observes and regulates and controls or verifies the operations of a data-processing system.(E.g. NetMine monitors and controls all the Internet and network activity of your computer). 

Multimedia – is media and content that uses a combination of different content forms. Multimedia is usually recorded and played, displayed or accessed by information content processing devices, such as computerized and electronic devices, but can also be part of a live performance.
